Crazyradio PA 2.4 GHz USB dongle

Crazyradio PA is a long range open USB radio dongle based on the nRF24LU1+ from Nordic Semiconductor. It features a 20dBm power amplifier, LNA and comes pre-programmed with Crazyflie compatible firmware. The power amplifier boosts the range, giving a range up to 1km (line of sight) together with the Crazyflie 2.X and up to 2km Crazyradio PA to Crazyradio PA (line of sight).

The Crazyradio PA is not only for usage together with the Crazyflie and Crazyflie 2.X. Since it's an open project with firmware written from scratch and a Python API for usage it's great building block for systems that require longer range than WiFi and doesn't have the same requirements for bandwidth. The hardware comes shipped with the latest firmware as well as a bootloader that enables firmware upgrades via USB without any additional hardware needed.

The Crazyflie PA is compatible with the first generation of the Crazyflie, but will not give the same range increase as with the Crazyflie 2.X.

Features

  •  Radio power amplifier giving 20dBm output power
  •  > 1km range LOS with Crazyflie 2.X (best case scenario)
  •  2x5 2.54mm header for prototyping (not mounted)
  •  Hardware support for PPM
  •  Same mechanical footprint as the first generation Crazyradio
  •  Open source firmware
  •  Firmware upgrade via USB
  •  Low latency

Package contents

  • 1 x Crazyradio PA
  • 1 x Duck antenna 2dBi

Debug adapter

One of our goals is to make development with the Crazyflie 2.X as easy

as possible. Due to the small size of the platform there are limitations

in what connectors we can have and therefore we designed a debug-adapter

kit that makes connecting a debugger to either of the MCUs a lot

easier, by converting the connector pinouts to standard JTAG and SWD

pinouts.

Features

  • Includes everything needed to easily debug the MCUs (STM32F4 and nRF51)
  • Multiple debug pinouts supported (including 20-pin JTAG and 10-pin Cortex debug)

Package contents

  • 1 x Crazyflie 2.X debug adapter
  • 1 x nRF51 debug connector
  • 1 x Nylon screw and nut for nRF51 debug connector
  • 1 x 6-pin debug cable for connecting to the Crazyflie 2.X

Lighthouse positioning deck

With the Lighthouse positioning deck, high precision autonomous flight becomes available for everyone. The Lighthouse deck uses the HTC Vive base stations (aka Lighthouse V1) or SteamVR Base Station 2.0 (aka Lighthouse V2) to achieve high precision positioning. The deck has 4 receivers which gives the full pose of the Crazyflie.

The position and pose is calculated directly in the Crazyflie, which makes it possible to create fully autonomous systems without external communication.

On-board position calculation and low complexity makes it the ideal choice for everything from big laboratories to small classrooms.

Features

  • High accuracy positioning
  • Supports HTC Vive Base Station and SteamVR Base Station 2.0
  • On-board FPGA for signal processing with open source toolchain
  • UART and I2C communication to Crazyflie deck expansion port
  • UART pads available to solder a 2.54mm pin header for connection to external system, eg. Arduino
  • UART and I2C bootloader to program the FPGA configuration

  • 1 x Lighthouse positioning deck

Loco positioning deck

The Loco positioning Deck is a Tag in the Loco Positioning system and measures the distance to Anchors. The distances are used to estimate the absolute position of the Crazyflie 2.X in the room, which can be used for autonomous flight. To read more about the Loco positioning deck go to our website.

Note: This product is intended to be used together with Loco Positioning Nodes and can not be used standalone.

For more information on the Loco Positioning System please see this Loco Positioning System page.

Features

  • Measures distances to Loco Positioning Node Anchors
  • 4 status LEDs

Package contents

  • 1 x Loco Positioning deck

Loco positioning node

The Loco Positioning Node is a versatile positioning device that mainly is used as an Anchor. The system measures the distance between Nodes and Tags, and from those distances the absolute position of objects carrying Tags can be calculated.

For more information on the Loco Positioning System please see this Loco Positioning System page.

Features

  • Supports Anchor and Sniffer mode, as well as a limited TWR Tag mode (no position estimation)
  • Can be used as a standalone system with some Nodes acting as Anchors and one Node acting as a Tag reporting distances to the Anchors.
  • Multiple powering options
  • On board MCU

Package contents

  • 1 x Loco Positioning Node
